Asbestos Consulting Services

GBM Environmental Consultants (GBM) has over forty years of experience providing asbestos consulting and testing services. GBM has performed hundreds of comprehensive and limited asbestos inspections. These inspections were performed for commercial, municipal, medical, school districts, residential, and industrial facilities.

GBM has performed project management and air monitoring on hundreds of asbestos abatement projects. GBM conducts field sampling of asbestos air samples, visual inspections, and final air clearance sampling to verify that asbestos abatement containment/work areas are safe for re-occupancy. GBM conducts on site analysis of asbestos air samples by Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM). GBM collects asbestos wipe samples and performs micro vacuuming for the presence of trace asbestos.

GBM has extensive experience interfacing with regulatory agencies and abatement contractors during the course of an asbestos abatement project. GBM is well versed in EPA, OSHA, and state regulations to aid clients with compliance. Federal and state laws and regulations require building owners to properly assess and manage the potential presence of asbestos-containing materials (ACM) prior to renovation or demolition. GBM helps protect the safety of building tenants and the environment while reducing the risk for building owners by providing professional asbestos consulting services. Failure to account for the proper removal of ACM can result in significant fines and project delays. GBM helps building owners better understand applicable laws and regulations. These laws include the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (USEPA) not limited to: National Emissions Standards for Hazardous  Air Pollutants (NESHAP) for renovation or demolition of buildings and disposal of asbestos waste; Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) for schools; Asbestos Model Accreditation Reauthorization Act (MAP) for training and accreditation; OSHA Asbestos Construction Standard and the OSHA General Industry Standard for workers.

GBM prepares project designs and develops specifications for partial and complete asbestos abatement projects. The design provides the location of asbestos material, project conditions, and scope of work, and the specifications detail the general methods required for the removal and disposal of asbestos.

GBM conducts bid meetings, attends pre construction and progress meetings, invoicing, write asbestos inspection reports and reports air monitoring and project management reports for asbestos abatement projects, collects photographic documentation for asbestos inspections and abatement projects.
